We rode ATV's - Ang & Kae's property is about 6 acres - and we watched the deer grazing in the backyard. The property is absolutely beautiful and is so peaceful. Ang built a big bonfire (using a flame thrower to light it lol). He also cooked the biggest and best Nebraska steak you could imagine. Kae followed up with a scrumptious pot roast and they both score equal first with Robby's ribs. Don't ask about Kae's fried eggs though!....Just kidding Kae - they were great :)
Most of the time the weather was perfect but we did have a tornado alert and for a while we thought we might be off to Oz with Toto but instead we got 3 inches of rain and lots of thunder and lightning. Woke up this morning to -2 Centigrade - bloody cold - car windscreens were covered in ice. I guess I better get used to the cold before Iceland and UK.
We were so sad to leave Kae & Ang today - love them to bits and I hope I may be able to get back again before my travels are over. Their home is idyllic and I could sit on their front porch drinking coffee forever. Miss you already :(
We are now on our way to New Orleans and the drive has been fairly uneventful. Now in a Best Western in Hammond Louisiana (Yay! Got an OLD $10 A big days drive - Miles 451.5 (726.6 kms) Bugs#1078 OLD $13.00
