Three Strikes and you're out!!

Left Crescent city about 10 am , finally on our way to Seattle. and can you guess what happened? Go on ...give it a go. Yup! You got it!!! We got  about 140 miles down the road the car started to "float" over the road. I couldn't steer it properly. We were on the I 5 highway - very busy road - lots of semis whizzing past :(.  It was very scary. Also there had been a fairly hefty vibration through the steering column since we left and so we found ourselves once again looking for mechanical help. We crawled into a very pretty town in Oregon  called Myrtle Creek. The upshot was the back end of the car's workings were pretty messed up. Some bits were chewed up and basically it wasn't going anywhere. Today is Thursday - parts can't be got till Tuesday so we would lose another week. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!  After several phone calls we got the one we wanted.  Shawn from Escape campers called to say they had just bought a new van - it is being painted and outfitted as we speak and he will be driving it to Oregon arriving Monday. By then the old van should be fixed and he will drive it back to LA. MEANWHILE .....they are paying out hotel bills and hire car till they get here. We are staying at the Seven Feathers Casino..very flash and got a bit of everything. Swimming pool, gym, horse riding, boat rides.  Bottom line is we have a few nice free days and get a safe reliable van to finish our travels in. Yay! I say...Yay!!! Bugs #271
